Right or Wrong, the holy trinity of B-3 players is Jimmy Smith, Jimmy McGriff, and Groove Holmes. Apologies to everyone else. The last of the big three kicked off last saturday. Jimmy McGriff died at 72 after battling MS. So many classic rare groove lps-Groove Grease, The Worm, Red Beans,Electric Funk . One of may favorites was the live LP "Giants of the Organ in Concert" with Groove Holmes recorded in Boston in 1973. Check out Mozambique or Boston Whaler for some truly amazing dueling organ action.
